Cross web lookup list
Creating an Enterprise Lookup column you may point lookup lists not only from a current web, but also lists from other webs in current site collection. This allows to split business features over multiple webs in a site collection without loosing possibility to make lookup connections between lists and document libraries from different webs.
View sorted and filtered lookup items
When you set up Enterprise Lookup column, you point not only lookup list and displayed column, but also a view from lookup list that would be used to filter and sort lookup items.
Dropdown and resolving mode
Working with dropdown list (standard lookup behavior) is useful when you want to pick lookup items using begins-with-keyword approach. If you want to find items using contains-keyword approach or attributes other than display column, then you'll need Enterprise Lookup's resolve items functionality.
You may configure up to three columns from lookup list that would be searched in defined order using contains-keyword method. When search returns results in one column from the sequence, it does not continue and resolve to an item (if there is one match) or shows information that there was no exact match and displays list of elements that contained the keyword.
You may change the mode Enterprise Lookup operates any time in list settings / column properties form.
Lookup item preview
Sometimes there are many similar items on lookup list and you need more than display-value column to distinguish them. With preview selected lookup item feature of Enterprise Lookup, you may preview selected item's display form in a popup window with single click without leaving the edit form.
